50 th anniversary of the Day the Music died. Please see the link i posted this is an interpretation of the song american pie which was written by Don McClean. Personally its one of my favorite songs and the mysteries surrounding this crash are really creepy. Firemen
Okay so I went to a fundraiser thing tonight and just got back home. It was for the burnout fund for the Eagle Fire Department. It was so much fun and the guys were awesome. I got to talk with a lot of them that I had not seen in a while and consequently did not get this blog up until 11 pm. yikes!! The guys were sporting new shirts they looked awesome and i cant wait to get one. Thank you to renu medispa for hosting the event, Ahi sushi for providing wonderful sushi. Whoever brought the wine is tops in my book it was great and finally the rest of the businesses that contributed. It was an amazing success. I love my calendar and look forward to finding a new place for it.

Books for a must read
Okay today's post will be totally about books.
Dis' must reads:
Tomorrow When the War Began
by John Marsden
This wonderful book about a group of teens whose country gets invaded while they are on a camping trip. They come back to find everyone is locked up at a county fair grounds. This entire series is one of my favorites, especially A killing frost. Its got 7 books in it and he came out with a new series about the main character too called the ellie chronicles.
Working on the edge
By Spike Walker
An autobiography of working as a crab fisherman in Alaska's King Crab Fleet in its hay-day in the late 70's early 80's. This book will keep you turning the pages constantly seriously i could not put it down and ended up reading it in a night.
Time Bandit: Two Brothers the Bering sea and one of the Worlds Deadliest Jobs
By Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand
This is a great book that gives amazing insight into the lives and difficulties facing boat owners who fish for the worlds deadliest dinner alaskan crab. The men of the time bandit hold nothing back about relationships mistakes made throughout their lives and are candid about their faults. Another book i read in one night.
Winter of Fire
Sherryl Jordan
P.S. If anyone finds a copy of this hold on to it for dear life or let me know cause i'm still trying to find one that is in good condition.
This book starts off strong it tells the story of a young lady who is in slavery when she tries to celebrate her birthday she is punished for this and has little hope of living until by chance she is taken to the ruler of the higher class and made his hand maid. It is a great story of triumph over slavery and while it is fiction it says a lot about society.
